Welcome to one of California's most diverse and best-loved cities, wonderful San Francisco. After checking-in to your hotel you are free to explore the city at your own leisure. Discover the shops and attractions of nearby Pier 39 or ride one of the iconic cable cars to a different area within this incredible city.
Experience one of San Francisco's most iconic landmarks with a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Learn how this impressive feat of engineering was created and discover why it's not actually painted gold despite it's name. As you head north along the coast of California, drive along the beautiful Avenue of Giants before arriving in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.
Enjoy a morning in Eureka where you'll visit one of the most written about and photographed Victorian houses in California, the stunning Carson Mansion. Then soak up some of California's natural wonders with a trip to the Redwood National Park where trees that are more than 1,000 years old still stand. Head north into the state of Oregon and wind down for the evening in Coos Bay.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and gear up for a trip to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Hop on a dune buggy and explore this natural wonder of continuous shifting sand where unique tree islands and interesting wildlife can be found. Then head north for an hour to Heceta Head overlook to see the beautiful 19th century lighthouse that shines its light across the ocean.
This is your opportunity to explore all that Newport has to offer. Kick-start the day with a sea life cruise where you can spot marine birds and creatures as your Local Specialist tells you all about the surroundings and wildlife within it. After the sea life cruise you are free to explore the area at your own pace.
Your day begins with a tour of the Evergreen Aviation Museum where you'll get to see the Spruce Goose and celebrate the lives of pilots, veterans and innovators who pioneered flight. The Willamette Valley is your next stop, here you'll enjoy a tour and tasting in their winery before sitting down for a gourmet lunch with locally produced vino. Your evening will be spent in the wonderful city of Portland where you can explore at your own leisure.
Today you'll see some of Oregon's most stunning scenery along the Columbia River Highway. See the river in all its glory from 733 feet above from the Chanticleer Point and Vista House. Next stop is the Multnomah Falls, Oregon's tallest waterfall and the second highest year-round waterfall in the entire USA. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in quaint Hood River where you can sip on local craft beer and try the town's signature salmon and chips. Before an evening of free time in Portland, visit Timberline Lodge where you can enjoy stunning views of Mount Hood.
This day takes you from Oregon into Washington State. Your first stop is the Mount St. Helens Visitor Centre where you'll learn all about the active Ring-of-Fire volcano that erupted in 1980 and spewed ash into 11 states. Watch a reenactment of the colossal blast and experience a host of interactive exhibits. Journey west to the Olympic National Park where you'll meet a Local Specialist who will share tales and tribal stories of the Quinault people who have long called the Pacific Northwest home.
Spend the morning exploring the wonders of the Olympic National Park. Start in the Hoh Rainforest, one of the world's largest temperate rainforests, and then trek the "Hall of Mosses" where trees drip with moss to create this eerie setting. Enjoy a quick stop at glorious Lake Crescent before riding a ferry across Puget Sound into Seattle where a stunning city skyline awaits.
This is your chance to witness all that Seattle has to offer. Start the day with a trip to the historic Pike Place Market, the nation's oldest farmer's market, where the fish fly through the air from one fishmonger's hands to the next. You have a choice of two experiences for your next stop, either a trip to the EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum or a journey to the top of the Space Needle, Seattle's most iconic landmark. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city on your own before joining fellow guests for a Farewell Dinner.
